Kids 2 is a global leader in baby and toddler toys and gear. The new European Headquarters in Amsterdam serves as a base of operations for the European sales team, as well as allowing for localized design and operations. The 8,000 square foot office is in the prestigious “Negen Straatjes” neighborhood (Nine Little Streets) of Amsterdam’s historic canal ring.
The design of the office blends Kids II’s mid-century modern brand style and unique culture with local aspects of Amsterdam and Dutch culture; reception chairs that resemble tulips, light fixtures suggesting bicycle wheels, a glass wall inspired by Dutch modernist Piet Mondrian and a dual purpose bar inspired by Amsterdam’s iconic canal bridges. Custom bicycles in Kids II red add the finishing touch and are a special treat for guests to tour the city while building local awareness for Kids II. The goal for the 5,000 square foot showroom was to develop unique brand experiences for each of Kids II’s 5 key brands, while still harmonizing within the overarching Kids II aesthetic. A flexible display and branding system was developed to allow for ongoing customization of each brand’s section.
